About me
About me
Hi, I’m Jamil,
I was born on January 6th, 1987, in Kobayat, in the countryside of Lebanon where I grew up, the eldest in a family of four.
I joined Scout du Liban at 5 years old and was an active member for 20 years. Since then, I have always tried to live by Baden Powell's motto “Be Prepared”.
After obtaining my Lebanese Baccalaureate Certificate in 2004, I was admitted in the Lebanese University, Faculty of Engineering, Tripoli. I graduated in 2010 holding a Masters in Electrical and Electronics Engineering specialized in Industrial Informatics and Automation. For my graduation project at INP Grenoble, France, I worked on a four rotor helicopter, currently known as drone.
In February 2010, I attended an interview with Petrofac, UAE, and got accepted a month later, while I was still trying to find a way to control my drone in Grenoble's Laboratory.
I joined Petrofac in Sharjah, UAE, on October 1st 2010, and my journey with the desert started.
In the past 11 years, I have worked in 5 different countries, 8 cities, 12 mega-projects, and with hundreds of colleagues.
I am a fan of photography, technology, and food.
I’m also interested in innovation and digitalization, which lead me recently to taking an online course at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Organizational Design for Digital Transformation.
I met the love of my life in May 2019, I knew she was the one when we found out our common passion for food and nature.
We got married on August 22nd 2021 in Lebanon surrounded by our families and friends.
